The path of God is SAFE. Yesterday a friend of mine and I took a deeper dive into Hebrews 12:13, from a post I shared from someone else’s page. The actual verse says “Make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.”Imagine a rocky path, full of boulders. If you’re already lame, you’re going to risk twisting your ankle. But the path of the Lord is straight, and it’s a place where you can heal.

Jeremiah 3:19 says, “I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble.”Proverbs 4:18 says, “But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.”The enemy wants us to think that the path of the Lord is dangerous and uncertain, but he’s the one with the rocky path. God’s path is light and life.I was taken to Romans 5 last night, and verses 8-10 jumped out for me in a new way. Let me rephrase them this way:

If while we were on the wrong path, still sinners, Christ laid His life down for us and died for us, how much more, now that we’re on the Father’s path, will He be there for us?

It’s amazing. Yes there will be trials, and yes there will be tribulations, but even the difficult times are there to develop our perseverance, our character, our hope (Romans 5:3-4). And we can know that no matter what it looks like, all things on the path of God work together for good.So much changes when we understand the path God calls us on is a safe one. I want to encourage you that if God is calling you out into a new place, you can trust Him. It may not always be pretty, but it will be beautiful.
