Many of us are going through a HUGE separation right now. It’s our “Severance Package”. The Lord is severing us from our past … and He knows the things we are breaking free from have been severe. But there are IMMENSE blessings on the way!
This morning as I woke up, I considered one particular issue standing in the face of my destiny. God has been dealing with giants in many of our lives, pruning and preparing us, moving us out of the things that have held us, so we can launch victoriously into the new place He has for us. For many of us, we are being launched into LIMITLESSNESS.
As I considered the word that was spoken against me, the Lord said, “Stay calm, and let Me fight for you.” I was reminded how, over and over, the word of the Lord is that He protects His own and fights for us. One verse in particular stood out for me:
The Lord will fight for you. You need only be still.
(Exodus 14:14)
Even as I write, these words course through my veins. HE takes care of all things. Don’t fret. Our destinies are secure.
As one who’s always interested in the context of His word, I went to read the surrounding passage. Exodus 14:14 are words Moses spoke to the Israelites as the armies of Egypt barreled down on them, threatening to destroy them, and at best bring them back to Egypt. But NO! God is separating us from our past once and for ALL. Egypt has NO power here. And that’s what blew up as I read. The preceding verse — in the original Hebrew of the Tanakh — is incredible. It says:
“Don’t be afraid! Stand firm and see the Lord’s salvation that He will wreak for you today”.
Let me just pause there. I love the word “wreak”. I haven’t seen that in other translations. It means “The Lord will UTTERLY ANNIHILATE your enemies today, and create a GREAT DESTRUCTION!” Phew.
The word then goes on to say:
“For the way you have seen the Egyptians is only for today, but you will no longer continue to see them for eternity.”
FOR ETERNITY!! I don’t know, but those words just pound me. FOR … ETERNITY. Let that sink in. God’s promises are TRUE, and they cannot be revoked. THIS IS WHERE IT ALL ENDS.
The Lord WILL fight for you. All you need is to remain calm.
Stand and see the salvation of the Lord. Keep walking the path He has prepared for you. Don’t look back, and don’t worry about the past. He’s taking care of it. All you need is to follow Him.
Lord, I thank You that You’ve got each one of Your sent ones. Where You lead us, we will follow. Thank You that You have prepared a place — a table — even in the presence of our enemies. We enter into the Joy of the Lord knowing You’ve got this. You go before us, and You are our rear guard. We Praise You!

And we know that NO WORD formed against us will prosper … but the WORD OF THE LORD will go out and accomplish ALL it was set out to do, and NOT return void!
YOU, my friend, are a word spoken by the mouth of the Lord, and you will accomplish all that He has set you out to do. You will not return void. Praise Him … and CARRY ON!
