Revival Waters Released!

I had the most amazing experience yesterday — I LOVE God’s adventures!!! Two days ago, I was taking care of some things around camp, and needed to switch out my drinking water hose for the regular garden hose. When I went to the water spigot that supplies water at my camp site, the knob just turned and turned. It never closed, and there was nothing I could do to close the valve. I tried unscrewing the hose a bit and water came gushing full steam ahead! Hmm … what to do.

Well, the next day I went to the front office to let them know about the malfunction. Just as I got there, a woman had arrived with her big rig and walked in the door before me. They took care of her first, so I turned to see what I could do to keep myself occupied. On the wall behind me, I saw rows of brochures for things to do in the area. And one brochure in particular caught my eye — Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site.

Now, just a week prior, God had put it on my heart to research the area where my home base is. The county I’m in is Brazoria County, and I found that it was named after the Brazos River, one of Texas’ largest rivers that runs through it. But what’s amazing is the name “Brazos River” is the shortened version. The full name of the river is “Rio de los Brazos de Dios” — River of the Arms of God. Wow! It turns out that when Spanish explorers found it, they were on their last string, exhausted. They fell on the river and literally felt they had fallen into the Arms of God.

There is so much God began to minister to me about the power of His arms. How His arms care for us, and they fight for us. They hold us, and protect us, and nothing is a match for His strength. NOTHING. So you can imagine why I was drawn to Washington-on-the-Brazos. But what was this place?

To my surprise, Washington-on-the-Brazos is where the Declaration of Independence for the Republic of Texas was signed! Before Texas became a state, it was a part of Mexico and it had to break free and fight for it’s independence. For ten years, the Republic of Texas was an independent nation, before joining the United States. What’s amazing, too, is the bravery of the men who fought, and the perseverance of those who formalized its independence, paved the way for other states to be born — like New Mexico, Arizona, and even California. In fact much of what the United States is today wouldn’t have been possible without the Republic of Texas being formed.

And still today, there’s something about Texas that sets it apart from the rest. A year ago, when I arrived in Texas — not knowing anything about this, or that Texas was even a nation at one time — I literally felt like I was in a different country. It was palatable and I couldn’t deny it. I asked my brother, who lives here, what are the chances of Texas becoming a separate nation. He said it probably would never happen, but the state does have the full infrastructure to function as a nation, if it did. I even contemplated what would happen if I didn’t change my citizenship (yes, citizenship, because that’s what it felt like). I became a Texas resident not too long after that. I say all this to say that, spiritually, there is a root here that separates Texas from the rest of the United States. I don’t know the full depth of it yet, but God has a very special significance for this nation. I mean state.

You can imagine my excitement, then, when I found that brochure! The very next day I was scheduled to travel to a different camp, and wouldn’t you know it, Washington-on-the-Brazos was right on my way! So that night, I did some research to learn more about what I’d be stepping into. I knew God had totally set me UP, and He wanted me to redeem that land and roots of freedom here. But what I’d find would blow my mind. Here’s where it gets amazing!

Yes, Washington-on-the-Brazos is the seat of government for the Republic of Texas, and it became its very first capital. So there’s a governmental authority here. In fact, the reason it was called Washington-on-the-Brazos was to set it apart from Washington-on-the-Potomac — where I have spent so much of my time praying for our nation as a whole. I couldn’t help but imagine the significance of God bringing me from there to here.

Well, here is where it gets incredible! I ALSO found that night that in 1840, six years after the Republic of Texas became a nation — and was still a nation — REVIVAL BROKE OUT!!! 1 Can you believe it?! I can’t make this stuff up!! THIS — Washington-on-the-Brazos — is the SEED OF REVIVAL in TEXAS!! And I was going there the next day to redeem the land!! With Texas’ influence in birthing the rest of the United States, that SEED goes a long, long way!!!

My mother, who also moved from the DC area to Texas last year, meets regularly with two friends to pray for revival. They’ve been expecting that God is going to break out in Texas in mighty ways, and here I am finding the actual SEED of revival that began here 184 years ago!!! It turns out that Washington-on-the-Brazos had become a significant hub in the day, which also brought in all the riff-raff — gambling, saloons, and prostitutes. So when Methodist, Presbyterian, and Baptist church leaders came together, a Spirit-filled revival broke out! It put an end to the lawlessness, and places of “ill repute” became churches. How incredible are you, Lord!! And what a testament, too, Lord, that if you could do that all those years ago, how much more will you transform our nation today?!!

So, equipped with the wine and the bread, I went to Washington-on-the-Brazos yesterday, and poured the elements into the ground, right by the hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed. I called the seed of revival to come alive, and prayed for freedom and generational healing throughout the land. I also felt led to put the wine/blood on the doorposts of the hall and declare God’s protection over the gates and borders of Texas. And then I walked the grounds praying and praising God. It was so amazing to get to be there! And, again, with the prayer I’ve done in Washington DC, I know it was a strategic assignment. What a joy and an honor to get to partner with You, Lord!

And by the way, as far as the water spigot goes, the office had maintenance men come out and fix it. There was literally nothing they could do to close the valve, so they had to replace the entire faucet. But even that, God showed me was significant. After I left Washington-on-the-Brazos, He began to speak to me about what happened. The spigot valve breaking open is prophetic to what has just been released. “The waters of revival have been released,” He said, “and there’s NOTHING anyone can do to stop them!” Jesuuusss!!! Just as the water came gushing at my campsite, He said, the wells of revival have been opened, and they’re gushing now! The WATER BROKE and revival is about to be BIRTHED!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!

Add to that, too, the fact that Washington-on-the-Brazos — the seed of revival in Texas — is ON the Brazos River. It’s ON the ARMS OF GOD!! And that’s what this revival is. It’s ALL about the FATHER’S LOVE. His protection, His cared, His fight for us! NOTHING can separate us from His ARMS! Nothing can separate us from His LOVE! We’re about to see the ARMS OF GOD over this nation like NEVER BEFORE!!!!

Sing Hallelujah!!! Praise the LORD!!!!! Revival is coming!! Revival is COMING!!!!!!!
